The personality of Kwaito

Let talk about the personality of kwai-core music but in order to understand and grasp the personality of this genre we first need to understand the personality of kwaito and of hard core punk before unpacking Kwai-core which will compromise of both.
Let’s start with Kwaito
“The word Kwaito is derived from the Afrikaans word “kwaai”, which translates to "angry" in English. In colloquial slang, negative words or phrases often acquire a positive connotation or "cool" status. “ (www.sahistory.org.za)
Kwaito music personality is said to be of aggression and anger, the beats as well are very loud and not soothing, so overall we may say that the personality of kwaito is anger, but anger because of what?  This then bring me to my next point which causes a link between the time that kwaito music was realized and the reason for it’s personality.

“Kwaito is about the township, knowing about the township, understanding the township, walking the walk, talking the talk and most importantly, being proud of these things. The township is being celebrated by the youth of South Africa in Kwaito music; this is interesting when one considers that the township was created to keep a ready supply of cheap labour under control by the apartheid government.” (www.sahistory.org.za)

Now I think we can understand why this genre of music has a angry personality, because even though democracy was upon us some people were still angry and expressed their angry through music which was the result in Kwaito in the 1990s

The continuation of BLK JKS

S let’s refresh our memories because I know you guys are getting a little excited with all this information, and of course I am mass producing stacks of it and digesting it can get a little hard

Let’s start over…

Now and then it’s easy to guess that Blk Jks are from Johannesburg and are an African band on their four-song “Mystery EP”. That’s when they go bounding into three-chord South African township grooves in “Lakeside” or overlay the reggae foundation of “Summer time” with syncopated guitars. But Blk Jks make their music in a global swirl of possibilities; they are an art-rock band...While the lyrics (mostly in English) ponder philosophical quandaries — “All the wise men ’round the world don’t know the answers” — the band’s quick-fingered, multilayered vamps well up out of murky echoes, piling jubilation atop the anxiety, before submerging again (www.secretlycanadian.com\artist)

Let's talk BLK JKS

Aaai Aaai Grey patch heads

I’ve stumbled and danced my way across some useful information that you “Greyies” will find very interesting, some of you may already know this band, two words: BLK JKS. The BLK JKS are a South African well know band that produce music that is similar to Kwai-Core if it is not actually Kwai-Core itself, so yes I have researched about them and have dedicated the next few blogs to strictly talking about this band and looking deeper into their genre of music, who they are, what makes them so unique, I will be carefully unpacking this band and delivering it to you on a imagination level… So yes maybe our little Kwai-Core city is not entirely “new” and maybe the BLK JKS have done something similar to it but I’m sure we have taken a different routine and ventured out onto our own expectations of Kwai-Core music and the things that would surround this music genre.

We learn, explore and venture everyday and when we find people with a common interest it shows that we are not just weird but we think out of the box and live life with a little color filled in it, Please do pay careful attention to the appearance of the BLK JKS, they style, their hair and accessories.

P.S Watch out for some cool pictures and please d follow my blog.

Thee- exis where everybody meets,  thee Kwai-core where Kwaito and Hard core punk is explored future.

We explore Kwai-Core

So I know around about now you are questioning my reason of choice of these genres. What do they have in common? Why these two genres? What if people do not like this type of music? Why would you want to combine to different genres into one?

I'd like to think that all genres have something in common, the that fact all lyrics to a song have a concept that they are based around or they are merely expressing ones experiences, either way there is a line linking different genres of music. All genres of music express something, I like to think of music as a personal way of explaining the emotions that we bundle up and even if we want to talk about our mouth but cannot grasp words and put them together to explain this internal feeling, and when we find and like a song that just maybe the artist was able to explain what we feeling without even knowing that someone is experiencing or going through the same thing. On the other side of the scale music is reviving, for filling and sometimes the music may not make any sense but it can sure make you dance, Let's not question the reasons of choice but let's Enjoy.

So yes, most definitely!! Kwaito and Hard core punk share something and with the two together there is something there full of potential. Both these two genres are considered loud, hard, bold and rely heavily on loud “hectic” beats and may be perceived as music that comes across as angry or frustrated, one will prejudge this music before even hearing the words to the song, Yes I expect that certain individuals will think that Kwai-Core is "whack" and they might not like it but I do guarantee that most people will actually try to listen to this “new” genre before “shutting it down”, and who knows some will fall madly in love. We live for the experiences in life,

P.s Please do follow my blog, this will show me that im headed somewhere with the grey patch heads
